Spring Break 2011

I am waving goodbye to my spring break. I had a nice week; I went fishing three times, skied twice, tried out my boat twice, didn't work out, took a nap with Buddy on his dog bed by the wood stove, finished the garden boxes, and went out for dinner more times than I can recount.

Starting tomorrow, I am officially back to my exercise regime. I made a bet with Bo to not drink beer for a month and to stick to my diet and workout regiment for three months. Just in time for summer ;).

Maiden Voyage

Yesterday I took my drift boat out on its maiden voyage. It is so much easier to maneuver and get around. Having a trailer and being able to get in and out of the water quickly is a huge plus. Didn't catch anything, but now I know where to go. Plus, the take out is only fifteen minutes from my house. I will be going a lot.

Skiing and Fishing on the Same Day!

I have never spent a morning skiing and in that same afternoon, went fishing. I met BC in Hood River, we skied some nice powder and corduroy, then fished the Hood River. It was a spectacular spring day. There is so much to do and it is all in my backyard. Loving life and Spring Break.

Gabbie is in ROME

Gabbie and her mom are in Rome right now for spring break. I spent my money on ski stuff and will be heading up to the mountain today. Gabbie and I have been able to use Skype and email, which is really nice. Seems like they are having a good time, drinking fine wine, and enjoying the city.

Where Does Time Go?

San Antonio, Texas

A cute picture of Gabbie when she was young

San Antonio, Texas

The wood I had to stack

Time doesn't really go anywhere, I do :). It's crazy to think about the time that goes by and how fast it goes. Life seems to be speeding up as I get older. Since my last entry, I traveled to San Antonio, Texas to visit Gabbie's parents, where I went to the Bass Pro shop, which was colossal, and Gabbie earned her purple belt in Kung Fu.

Besides that, I haven't been playing. I have been working and taking care of needs around the house. My philosophy of teaching is being fine tuned and with that, I am working differently. It is time consuming and at times, exhausting. However, it's rewarding to see a majority of my students succeed.

Time to play is back on the plate. I plan on fishing and skiing more with the days to come. Also, I turn thirty-five on Thursday and that means I will only be fifteen years away from fifty. NUTS!
