Garden Update

Besides little bouts with a few cold spring mornings, the garden is doing pretty well. I should be able to plant throughout the summer. Below is what I have planted in the boxes and around the house.
  • peas
  • strawberries
  • onions
  • beets
  • lettuce
  • broccoli
  • squash
  • pumpkins
  • artichokes
  • grapes
I plan on putting some corn in and potatoes later. The chickens are providing excellent compost. However, we did have to put up a fence around the boxes as it would take about 35 seconds for the girls to destroy the whole crop.

I will update the garden again once it really starts to heat up.

Cape Lookout

This marks our first trip to the Oregon coast this year. We packed up the car and headed west for a weekend filled with beach, Sand Dollars, naps, peace, and quiet. Needless to say, we had a lovely time. We slept in the 4-Runner and that was comfortable, especially with a foam pad underneath.

Cape Lookout was a secluded beach flanked on the south with waterfalls. For the first time in my life I found a whole Sand Dollar.

On our way home, we stopped at the Wilson River and let Buddy have his last swim for a week or two.
