Reyjavik, Iceland

We landed yesterday morning (our night sleepy time) and I am still trying to adjust to the time difference. We knew the lack of sleep was going to be rough so we planned ahead by hitting the Blue Lagoon spa immediately after arriving. What a great way to end a 7 hour flight! We bathed in mineral water heated by recondensed steam channeled from a geothermal plant. We were cladded in swim suits and bath robes, then we took the spa on by force: bathing, sitting in a steam room, napping in lounge chairs, and repeating the process as much as needed. Afterwards, we drove the rental car to the city and purchased new sweaters. Hand-knit Icelandic sweaters are by far the best and I regretfully washed mine from last year, so a new one was in order. Gabbie added another one to her collection as well. I purchased one exactly like the one I had before. Well, not exactly because they are hand made here in Iceland (not in China!). Around four in the afternoon, the lack of sleep began to play tricks on me and Gabbie was concerned since I was driving and acting silly. Luckily, our airline miles provided a luxurious stay at the Hilton, and I was able to sleep a total of 16 hours. However, in my mind it's the middle of the night, and I am still tired. Damn time change. We fly out of here this afternoon and head to Olso, Norway. I will post pictures with my phone as soon as I can get to a place with free WiFi. Hilton is cheap and their guests have to pay for the internet (12 bucks!) per day and per device. Oh well, I am on vacation.
