Hans, Gabbie, and I met up with some friends and floated the John Day River for five days and four nights. Each day was filled with bass fishing, sun, beer, and fun. We even went for a hike. Gabbie graciously gave everyone information on geology and each person had a specific question that needed to be answered. Hans said it was one of the best vacations he had ever taken and when he left this morning, he was not excited about going back to work. The nicest part for me was being totally out of civilization and watching Hans and Gabbie catch multiple fish on the fly rod. Another highlight was meeting some down to earth women, one of which has had published photos in National Geographic and is sending me pictures of Hans and I going down Clarno Falls in the drift boat. This was another excellent river trip indeed!
